Important News

STAAR Tests: We will continue STAAR State Testing this week. On Tuesday, April 30, we will test Math for the grades 3 and 4. On Wednesday, May 1, the Math test for grades 5 and 8 will be given and the EOC Algebra I test for grade 8. On Thursday, May 2, we will have the EOC Algebra I test for grade 9. Please see the schedule below to help remember dates. Be sure your student gets a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast to be prepared for the test. These tests are VERY important! Please review It is important that your child is present at school on the day of their tests. We ask that you schedule needed appointments around these dates, this includes picking your child up early on these dates. The tests do not have a time limit, so students could be testing all day. Good luck to all the students!!! Please remember - while we want students to be comfortable they must still be in dress code (no PJ bottoms and no blankets).

NHS Letters: Students that meet requirements for the academic standards of National Honor Society will be given letters and applications today. They are DUE Thursday, May 9, by 4:00. Late forms are NOT accepted. Please be sure to get forms into Ms. McDonough by then to be eligible to be considered into NHS. 

Senior Scholarships: There are several scholarships due TOMORROW, Tuesday, April 30: the Republican Party of Robertson County, Hearne Chums Club, and the Robertson County Farm Bureau. Harold Luster Scholarship is due on Friday, May 3. Be sure to get these turned in, so far VERY FEW students have applied for these and ALL seniors are encouraged to come and get scholarship applications and fill them out by the deadline date. Applications are available outside the HS office.

Sports News

Baseball Playoff Games: Our Boys Baseball Team are heading into the playoffs and their Bi-District series will be played at CE King High School against West Hardin. This is the best out of 3 game series that will start with a double header on Thursday, May 2, starting with game 1 at 5:30 and the 2nd game will follow. If a 3rd game is needed it will be played on Friday, May 3, at 6:30. Come out and cheer them on!
• Thursday, May 2: HS Baseball vs. West Hardin at CE King High School in Houston. 1st game is at 5:30. 2nd follows.
• Friday, May 3: only if needed would be at 6:30

Softball Playoff Game: Our Girls Softball Team is going into the 2nd round of playoffs this week after their win last Thursday. They are schedule to have only 1 game on Thursday at 6:30 in Madisonville Vs. Bremond. THIS game could get moved to TUESDAY – depending on the weather. PLEASE be sure to check out our facebook pages and website for the latest information.
• Thursday, May 2: HS Softball vs. Bremond @ Madisonville @ 6:30 – 1 game only

Tennis Regional Tourney: Congrats to our girl’s doubles tennis teams who are headed to regionals in Corpus Christi. The top 2 teams finishing in district were: Lily Beamon & Rylie Lloyd and Jayla Martinez & Jordan Bucknum. Congrats girls – good luck at the next contest!

6 Weeks Progress Reports Going Home: On Thursday, May 2, the final progress report for the year will go home. There are only 3 weeks left in school and if your child is struggling with their grades, this is the FINAL push to try and make improvements, 

HS Sports Dinner & Awards Banquet: We will be having a sports banquet honoring all HS level sports on Tuesday, May 14, at 5:30 pm. Parents, Staff and Mustang Fans are invited to attend the dinner and program. Tickets can be purchased at the front office for $17 each, they MUST be purchased by Thursday, May 9. All HS student athletes can attend FREE, but must turn in their forms to the front office by Thursday, May 9, to be added to the list to attend. Invitations/RSVP forms will be sent home this week with athletes.

AP Calculus: Students that are taking AP Calculus will be taking the AP Calculus test on Monday, May 13. Students taking the test need to be prepared by getting a good night’s rest and breakfast! Testing will start at 8:00 AM. If you still need to pay for your test, please do so. If you changed your mind about testing you do still owe the $40 fee.

Transfer Agreement Forms: We are sending out transfer agreement forms with students who did not live in the Mumford School District. Students that do not live in the district must have a transfer form completed and approved through Mumford administration to attend school here. This is a yearly agreement. Please be sure you have read over the form including expectations and reasons for denial or revocation of your child’s transfer and that is completed and returned to Mumford. Only students currently enrolled in Mumford should be on this form. If you have questions about this form or are NOT planning to re-enroll at MISD for the 2024-25 school year, please contact the office.
