AR Penny Drive: Just a few more weeks in April so keep bringing in that extra money you find around the house! We are currently having our AR Penny Drive and you can bring in your pennies, nickels, quarters, dimes and even dollars, and support our AR program. Everyone check their pockets, piggy banks, and under the sofa cushions for their extra change. Each grade is competing to bring in the most money for purchasing AR books and the winner will get a popcorn and movie party!


Baseball/Softball: Our girls' softball team will be finishing up their season this week as will our boys. Please come out and support our teams!

Senior Scholarships: We have several scholarships that are due TODAY. The RCFA Scholarship and the Harold Luster Scholarship are both due today, Monday, April 15; the Navasota Valley Electric Coop Scholarship is due next Friday, April 26. Please be sure to get the scholarships turned in or mailed in by the deadline dates and check out all the scholarships available in the HS office.


Senior Brazos Valley HYPE: Our seniors will be attending the Brazos Valley HYPE Career Expo on Wednesday, April 17. This program will allow seniors to visit with employers about job opportunities in the Brazos Valley. Students may know what they want to study in college and this will help them see what jobs are available after going to college or right out of high school. This is a great event, please be sure permission slips are signed and returned.


Easter Parties: Students in grades Pre K - 2nd will be the only students having Easter Parties. These will be on Thursday, April 18, at approximately 2:30. Easter egg hunts will be for students in grades Pre K - Kindergarten and will occur before the parties. Paperwork went home from homeroom teachers to volunteer for items to bring to the party. Please return the paperwork to your child's homeroom teachers.  


Easter Break: There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 19, for Easter Break; school will resume on Monday, April 22, at 7:40 am.


Spring Sports Pictures: Tuesday, April 23, we will be taking spring sports pictures, including JH Softball, HS softball, HS baseball, and tennis. Pictures will be taken for both group and individuals, and order forms will be going home soon!


Baseball/Tennis Boys Senior Night: On Tuesday, April 23, before our baseball game, we will honor our Senior players and their parents of both tennis and baseball. This is the last HS boy's home game of the season and we want to show our appreciation for their support of the boys program, recognition events take place before the 5:00 game.  


Elementary Student Baseball Night: On Tuesday, April 23, after the presentation of our Sr Spring athletes and their parents, we will have our first ever "Elementary Baseball Night". We will be inviting all elementary students, up to 5th grade, out onto the field to stand with our players during the National Anthem. Come out and enjoy a great game and support our Varsity Baseball Team!


Spring Fling Dances: Come out and have some fun! There will be lots of games and fun at the dances, as well as concessions! Come on out! Admission for all dances is $5.00 and they will be held in the Mustang Room.

  • Grades 3 - 5: Wednesday, April 24, from 3:30 - 5:00. Only Mumford students in grades 3 -5 will be allowed to attend.
  • Grades 6 - 8: On Thursday, April 25, from 3:30 - 5:00 we will have the Welcome Back Dance for these grades. Only students in grades 6 - 8 may attend and only Mumford students.  


ASVAB/CEP Testing: On Thursday, April 25, at 8:00 the 11th graders will be taking the ASVAB/CEP test. Information is being sent home today, about the test, which will provide students with career and job options for the future. Although this is normally thought of as a military test, results will not be given to recruiters unless "Opt In" forms are completed.


Support for Franklin: This weekend the neighboring town of Franklin was hit by a tornado that created substantial damage. After talking to emergency personal in Franklin it has been determined that monetary donations are what is of most need, at this point. Our NHS will be collecting these donations over the next week, if you would like to give please bring your money and specify that is for the "Franklin Relief Fund". Please donate what you can and keep them in your thoughts and prayers.


TxDOT Public Meeting/ Open House: The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), is proposing to construct a grade separation at the FM 50 and Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) crossing in Mumford, Robertson County, TX. An informal open house is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2019 between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at in the Mustang Room. TxDOT staff will display the proposed project layouts and be available to discuss the project. Information about this project is also available on the TxDOT Projects and Studies web page at:
